Ayo - solo guitar compositions by Derek Gripper from the years 2004-2008. This recording captures the early versions of piece like Uhadi Rain, Segankure and Ayo which would later be re-explored in various collaborative projects. It also includes Derek’s first evocation of the West African kora, in the piece Kaira dedicated to Toumani Diabate whose music Derek would record in full four years later.
